For the first time I had one American Tree Sparrow on my feeders all day. Don't
know how common is here in Lexington, but its the first time I see one here.

I headed out to Spindletop (Maine Chance Farm in Lexington prior to the
ASK outing. Saw many of the usual suspects, but had one Lapland Longspur
mixed in with the Horned Larks. Also saw several Common Grackles and a fair
number of Brown-headed Cowbirds. A couple of days earlier I also had a lone
American Tree Sparrow that was flushed by a passing car before I could get
a photo.
Met up with the ASK group at Reservoir 4 off of Coy's Lane. The water on
this side of Richmond Rd was pretty much frozen over with just a little
open water that allowed us to find a few species of ducks. We were
originally scheduled to go over to the Fishing Club on the other side of
Richmond Rd, but were unable to gain access today. So, went to the causeway
on Lakeshore Dr instead. There we had a nice mix of waterfowl.
The ASK Spring Meeting is coming right up, Saturday, March 7th. Please
RSVP if you have not done so already. Hope to see you there.
