Had a pretty good day out on Monday. Started out at home in Scott County and
got
my FOS Blue-headed Viero, a couple of Winter Wrens, Purple Finches at the
feeders, a Hairy Woodpecker a couple of Brown Creepers and both Kinglets. Then
headed out to Maine Chance Farm and picked up 18 American Golden-Plovers and a
Horned Lark, one of which appeared to be carrying nesting material and my first
Barn Swallows. At Lexington Cemetery did not pick up much new. My final stop at
McConell Springs got me a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a
couple of Hermit Thrush and Eastern Phoebe. Ended up with 53 species for the
day.
