What to do if you see a rare bird in Kentucky: 1. Tell others. And as soon as
possible, post to the KOS & ASK listserves, so others have a chance to see it,
too. 2. Take pictures, write notes, make a sketch, etc., so that you can supply
good documentation to confirm your find. See the Rare Bird Report form for what
information is needed by reviewers. 3. Use the following email address to send
your documentation to the Kentucky Bird Records Committee (KBRC):
kbrc@xxxxxxxxxx.
The Kentucky Bird Records Committee maintains the "Kentucky State List of
Birds", the official list of all birds confirmed to have occurred in Kentucky.
Submission to and acceptance by eBird does not constitute acceptance of a
sighting by the KBRC and inclusion on the official "Kentucky State List of
Birds".
The Rare Bird Report Form and Review List of birds that are rare enough to
require a KBRC vote are available in the Kentucky Birding Reports And Archives
section of the Kentucky Ornithological Society
website:http://birdky.org/kentucky-birding-reports-and-archives.html
Thanks, and good luck out there!
