They have been nesting on that cell tower for several years. It is one of
very few Osprey nests in this part of Kentucky.

There is a softball complex just east of 75 on Athens Boonesboro Rd where
I sometimes meet my brother for lunch. We walk around the fence line and we
look for birds and frogs on his break. Last time I was there, a couple of
weeks ago, I heard a raptor call from the cell tower that is just south of
the complex. I was scanning the tower with my binoculars when my brother
spotted a large bird flying away from the tower. I could easily see the
unique shape of an Osprey and the unusual call suddenly became usual, if I
were in Florida anyways. I couldn't see a nest but my brother has seen the
bird a few more times, and thinks he can see nesting material on the tower.
Might be worth a look if any one is in the area.
