I think that the two of you, along with Jen Davis and myself, are now
famous, at least in the Tennessee birders world. Jen and I have each
already done one 'media' interview about the bird, and a story has already
appeared in the online *Nashville Tennessean* newspaper. You can read
NUMEROUS emails (23, so far) about the bird to tnbird.org at the following

If you don't want to read all of the emails, you should at least know that
the hooded crane disappeared from view about the time you left and was not
see again until very late today. At least a dozen of the more 'expert'
Chattanooga birders were still there, although several had left before the
bird flew back into the approximate spot that you first showed it to me. It
was in a group of sandhill cranes when it flew in about 5:38 p.m. I expect
MANY more birders from several states to show up in the next few days to
try to get a look at it.
Thanks again for showing me this 'strange bird' in your spotting scope. I
enjoyed talking to you about all sorts of other things, as well, last
evening and this morning.
