Today we stopped to check on the owl nest and saw a juvenile in the
nest. The parents were not there at the time.
This nest is in a large sycamore on Old Frankfort Pike in Faywood.
Heading out from Lexington, you enter a 35mph zone, pass a country
store on the right, go around a curve at Faywood Ln (which is also on
the right), and then look on the left for the entrance to Hopewell
Farm. The sycamore tree in the field just BEFORE the Hopewell entrance
is the tree. The nest is centrally located and easy to see.
If you reach Payne's Depot Rd/Pisgah Pike, you've gone too far.
