Greetings- coming back from Louisville to Lexington for work this am about
11:00 saw 13 cranes flying!! They were south of I-64, fairly high, slightly
split into 2 groups but near each other, flying west but possibly circling
down. We were west of Shelbyville about 20 miles, near ?Taylor Lake exit- sorry
to be unsure- so enthralled to see them I forgot to get good read on mile
marker! Could not really see them to make clear ID but assume they were
sandhills? Long legs trailing, long necks, beautiful sight, much more graceful
fliers than great blues and not so ponderous.....Has anyone been seeing them

The club had a good outing on Sunday. We gathered at the parking area by
Lakeside golf course and then headed out to Reservoir #4. It was a little cool
with temp in the low 30's and a little breeze when we were up on the dam. A
total of 11 of us were out and we picked a total of 34 species plus an
accipiter that we could not agree if it was a sharpie or cooper's.
Come out and join us for out next outing and bring a friend
