Those little birdie hormones are flowing...*
I am following in Marion Uterhart's footsteps: I'm making peanut-butter
'worms'... Just roll the PB in a little bit of cornmeal, making sure you
don't touch it until well-covered. Pinch lightly to 'extend' the worm, shaking
the pan occasionally to keep the 'worm' well-coated.
I was inspired by a very cold-and-hungry looking robin. It also ate most of an
old pear-half that I put out. I had to bring the fruit in periodically, so
that it would thaw enough to be 'peck-able'
I also found a bag of freeze-dried mealworms in the pet food section at my
Kroger. But my birds haven't figured out yet that these are edible.
*(My cardinals have been singing since some time in January. They start,
intermittently, as soon as the days start getting longer. They were singing
again this morning.

Heard an over zealous cardinal singing his brains out in the pre-dawn
darkness this morning....Well good for him.
