Gail and I got up before breakfast this morning and went to Black Mountain.
It's a 4 - 4.5 hr drive from Lexington, but there are some breeding birds there
that can't be found any place else in KY.
The list:
Blackburnian Warbler (h)
Red - eyed Vireo - all over the place
American Robin
Common Raven (h)
Hooded Warbler (h) didn't count them
Veery 5 or 6
Ovenbird (h) didn't count them
Dark - eyed Junco 5 or 6
Common Yellow-throat (h)
Rose - breasted Grosbeak (h) 3 or 4
Brown headed Cowbird
Cerulean Warbler (h) 2
Eastern Wood Pewee (h) 2
Turkey (h)
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Eastern Bluebird 2
White - breasted Nuthatch
Back in Lynch we heard an Indigo Bunting and saw an Eastern Phoebe
There were others, but my ears aren't very good.
