I hope you all are looking forward to the upcoming spring weekend with ASK.
This year we're going to Carter Caves SRP. So far this spring, it seems,
songbird migration has been slow. All this week there's been wind out of the
north that may have been keeping back the bulk of migrants. The forecast for
this weekend is looking pristine with fair weather. Here's to hoping the winds
change and bring in the droves of birds! This Friday at 6:30 will be a potluck
in the picnic shelter area. Saturday morning at 7:45 we'll meet by the front of
the lodge for a bird walk. There'll be other walks all day. Saturday night at
5:30 will be a Derby Party at the Sutton/Cannon/Wood cabin with a tally of the
day's birds thereafter. Sunday morning there will again be a bird walk. Should
be a great time. Hope to see you all there.
