Things are getting ready to heat up in the world of
robotic combat!
-Events
We've just registered Heavy Metal Noise to compete in
"Robot Assault", Aug 29-Sept 1, at the Apple Festival
in Hendersonville, NC. There are over 100 bots
already signed up for this event, so it should be an
excellent competition. The NC Apple Festival is one
of the largest Labor Day festivals in the country and
attracts hundreds of thousands of people to
Hendersonville every year, so this will also be great
exposure for both our team and the sport.

Next on the calendar will be "Battle at the Beach II",
in Ormond Beach Florida, October 16-19.

-Tech Talk
Our latest modification to the robot is replacing our
off-the-shelf steel wheel hubs with custom aluminum
rims and titanium adapters. This change saved us two
pounds, which we've used to beef up the front legs.
-Web Update
We've added a "Spinner Fact Sheet" to our team web
site so builders and fans can compare the weapons used
by their favorite bots!
