A copperhead bit my pup, Ivy Lee, two days ago (9/2) while we were hiking
on the bike trail in Grundy. I'd seen numerous copperheads in my life of
hiking the woods, but I had never seen one this big. The sucker was at
least three feet long and as big around as my lower arm. Its head was
massive. It bit her on her muzzle, I rushed her to the vet's office, where
she spent the night on meds and IV fluids, and she's home, now, doing well
and getting spoiled.
Before that happened, I found a small feeder flock with Tennessee,
Blackpoll, Parula, and Chestnut-sided warblers, along with Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher.
