Blue-headed Vireo, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Common Raven on
Guesses Fork today. Juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk let me get within 40 feet
of his perch before flying away. Btw, I'm looking at the YTW as I post this
message from the woods. Little guy singing his heart out.

David, that's a great idea. Count me in.

I was thinking, today, as I found each amazing species, that I'd like to
have the entire club (those interested) up to the house for a Southern Gap
birding day. We could meet at the Gap and bird, and then come to my house
for an afternoon meal, or something along those lines; I'm still mulling it
over. Also, I'm still learning the trails--y'all probably know your way
around better than I do at this point. Would you be interested in something
like that?

That's some good birdin'-do you ever bird that old stretch of pavement
from the head of Little Prater to the old Poplar Gap entrance? I've had
some great birdin' through there. I think our club et al should push for
this to become a Wildlife Sanctuary and walking trail. You could even have
a side trail off the pavement that goes up the hill to an old strip bench.
Let me know what you think

Dave
