Bob,Congratulations on getting the Great Knot. Had I known it was that close I would have tried for it myself. I thought it was up in the northern part of the state.
I would also have enjoyed filming your lifebird dance :) Roger Mayhorn----- Original Message ----- From: <bebirding@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hello Birders,August is shorebird month and I wanted to remind everyone to watch those shorelines and mudholes. While up in Charleston WV this past week. I was fortunate enough to locate a Great Knot. Unbelieveable when I can look at a shorebird and say to myself what in the world is that on the eastern part of North America. The pond it was seen at was no bigger than a lot of the ones in our area. Anyway I have included a range map of this bird to show how rare this Knot was and for those of you who just have to know yes I was dancing the lifebird dance.-- Bob(Be Birding) RiggsLebanon, Va.
