Sounds like fun Dan! By the way, I had an Osprey fly upriver here this
evening. It caught my attention because it was vocalizing as it flew by. New
yard bird!

Very nice ! I had a Summer Tanager yesterday.
I was thinking if any of you would be interested in a “Quarantine Bird Count” ?
Starting tomorrow through May 15th, count the birds in your yard that you see
or hear. I’m open to any other suggestions or limitations you all would like to
provide. We live on a lot here in New Bern NC less than a third of an acre.
Maybe we could make the boundaries larger if you guys would think that more
appropriate. It helps to pass the time. I’d even be happy to provide to the
winner (most birds) and most unusual/best bird, a Proven Winner Hydrangea. You
may have to wait until this fall to receive it as I get to SW Virginia for some
of the fall bird activities.

I just took a walk in the neighborhood and was surprised to catch a glimpse
of a male and female Scarlet Tanager! I've seen them in this same location in
years past, so I'm happy to see they're back!
