Saw-whet Owls have been found at Charles Kennedy's place at Hayter's Gap, which
is just at the Washington - Russell County line. There are also records of them
having been found on Bear Town Mtn. Bob Riggs may know of others.

Folks,
At about 2 this morning I was awakened by what sounded like someone
rhythmically blowing on a pop bottle outside my bedroom window. Upon clearing
the cobwebs from my brain I stumbled outside to investigate. Shining a
flashlight into the upper branches of our apple tree revealed a small owl
making the noise. I went back into the house to retrieve my camera but upon
return the owl was gone. Are there records of N. Saw Whet owls in Russell Co.?
