Dave, glad to see you got Pine Siskins and that your resident Brown Thrasher is
still there. Nice photos.

Subject: [bcbirdclub] Recent sightings at home

It's during times like this snow storm that make me glad to be a birder!
Enjoying the birds coming to our feeders definitely helps combat boredom. We
actually experienced a "first" for our place when a male Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker showed up at our feeder on the 21st. We have been feeding birds in
our yard for 37 yrs without this happening. Roger Mayhorn has reported
Sapsuckers at their feeders before, but we had not . The Brown Thrasher has
been here all winter. I've enjoyed all the recent reports of Fox Sparrows in
the area-we also have one since the 21st. Pine Siskins have only been with us
for 4 days now. Not the crowd that Roger has-only 5 or 6 at a time. I have put
some freeze-dried mealworms in a few of the Bluebird houses in Breaks. I hope
this helps the birds avoid the starvation that occurred during last winters
deep snow.
