After having been gone for a week I returned home yesterday to find more
migrants had returned. Seven Purple Martins had come back to the mountain.
Two male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and one female came to the feeder this
morning. A beautiful first of the season male Indigo Bunting came in for a
short time. A walk around my birding trail turned up a striking male
Redstart, a Veery and a Wood Thrush, but the most surprising find was seeing
two baby Red-shouldered Hawks in a nest they had used in past years.

Here is a better look at the two nestlings. The gray lump behind the first
one is a second nestling. I couldn't see if there were more than two, but
Red-shoulders average 3 per nesting.
