I took an early morning trip to walk the fence rows around Hampton Creek Cove. Being alone and having not seen any research people, I made sure not to get within at least 200 yards of the nest area. After the storms of last night, there was a fair amount of activity this morning. He said it was his birthday and he was hoping to get a Golden-winged Warbler for his life list. Within 5 minutes we had seen two beautiful males. He will remember this one! After leaving Hampton Creek Cove, I stopped briefly at Picnic Area #1. It was getting hot and muggy. Not much going on there, but one thing that might be important. I saw and heard a Golden-winged Warbler on the small muddy access road to the right of the volleyball net. It was in a tree just above the creek that runs beside that road.
