While driving home this evening, I spotted three ducks on the river and
commented to Angie that one of them looked different so I turned around to take
a second look. Turns out it was a domestic hybrid, but while turning back
around, I saw a very large nest a good ways up the mountain side. I first
thought it to be a large hawk nest? Imagine my delight when I fixed my binos
on it and saw not one, but several large nests be attended to by several Great
Blue Herons! There were at least six nests, but there'll probably be more once
I get a scope on the area. Below is a distant photo of a few of the nests.
