Thanks Jerry. I'm glad to see you got a Purple Finch. I had one on the count too, but they have been pretty scarce here this winter. The Northern Mockingbird was a nice touch. Here on the mountain they are only occasional visitors while David Raines and Johnny Ratliff and others have them throughout the year. Sunday was something of an exception due to the snow cover. Surprisingly, Saturday was quiet except for Goldfinches and Purple Finches even though there was snow. The four days produced only 17 total species with no towhees or red-bellies. I was surprised to have a Northern Mockingbird as this bird is a very rare visitor to our yard.
