It was an icy day here on Compton Mountain. It started about 7:00 AM and
became worse as the day went on. I was glad the birds were able to get food
at our feeders. Ice prevents birds from reaching their natural foods, and
when it lasts several days many birds die from it.
In addition to the regulars I had 27 Cardinals this morning, a family of 5
Bluebirds, a Red-breasted Nuthatch, a Brown Thrasher, a Mockingbird and 3
Red-winged Blackbirds.
