As I have been enjoying all of the busy birds at my feeders, I have been
finishing up some new bird houses for the Spring. Before I hang them I was
hoping I could get some opinions on "Fire Treating" bird houses. I have
read about this Online but not from any "official" bird websites. They
state that by giving the wood a char from a blow torch before hanging it
will protect the wood from the weather longer and is not toxic to birds.
Again, I am unsure about this process and the last thing I want to do is
harm any nesting birds. Any thoughts?
Happy Birding!
