Hi All, Dr Clint Sutherland took this photo today of a Rose-breasted Grosbeak at his home on Hobbs Branch near Grundy using his daughter's digital camera. Thanks Clint for the photo. Grosbeaks are showing up all across the Eastern U.S. in places they haven't been see before. One theory is that the increase may be due to the recent freeze, which may have killed the foliage eating insects and the buds and other natural foods that grosbeaks eat. Because they can't find their food in the trees they are finding it at feeders, so keep your feeders stocked. The grosbeaks need it. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
