Subject: Key messages for weekend weather system...
Here are the key messages for the system set to impact the region later
today through Sunday.
1. Rain moves in late today and will fall moderate to occasionally
heavy at times this evening into the overnight before tapering to periods of
light rain for Saturday through Sunday. A general 1 to 2 inches of rain can
be expected for the 24 period from midday Friday to midday Saturday. This
shouldn't be enough to result in any significant hydro issues but could
result in nuisance type urban flooding as well as in low lying areas.
2. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for the Atlantic coast and
tidal portions of Delaware Bay and the Delaware River for the high tide this
evening / tonight. Confidence is high therewill be widespread minor flooding
on the coast with some sites potentially even reaching moderate levels.More
rounds of flooding are expected this weekend, with the Saturday night high
tide continuing to exhibit the highest potential for moderate (warning-level)
flooding.
3. For Marine interests, a period of Gale Force winds is expected off
the coast of northern New Jersey overnight tonight into early Saturday
morning.
