They are in charge of building and upgrading things and give orders to

players on where to go and what to do. Of course players don't always
obey
orders though.
NS2 has expanded on the original in a ton of ways. The engine they
made for it is really cool too. The alien biomass stuff that grows is
neat.
They've also tried really hard to help new players out with tutorials
and
rookie servers and things because they know it has a bit of a learning
curve to it.
It's a fun game if you can get in and figure it out.
