I want to thank you and the entire team of GOA patriots for taking action in
opposing the Chipman nomination.

Tens of thousands of you have taken action – dutifully sending your emails and
making phone calls to your senators.
As I told you recently, GOA is paying to run ads on Facebook and Instagram that
are generating thousands upon thousands of calls into key swing Senate offices.
GOA has also been placing articles in key publications, such as Epoch Times,
where we are exposing Chipman’s anti-gun record to new audiences.
So far, our campaign is working. Fox News reports that Chipman is in “hot
water,” and that the Biden administration is not confident that he can pass the
Senate. Politico reports that Chipman is “stuck in limbo.”
This is thanks to YOUR HARD WORK and support. Grassroots activism really does
make a difference.
Of course, we can’t let up. We have not won this battle yet.
A lot could happen over the next few weeks. The Biden administration can lavish
political bribes to get enough Senators to back his anti-gun pick.
Just yesterday we learned that one undecided Senator, Democrat Maggie Hassan of
New Hampshire, is now stating that she will vote to confirm Chipman. The number
of Senators who are “on the fence” are dwindling.
And that’s why we’ve got to keep those emails and phone calls going.

Court Rules in Favor of Second Amendment

This is a great decision coming out of the state of Virginia. Young adults who
are old enough to defend our country in battle should also be able to defend
their families.
This decision comes on the heels of another win that GOA was involved in just
last year. GOA won a key victory when a Virginia judge issued a statewide
injunction preventing Universal Background Checks from being applied to 18 to
20-year-olds purchasing handguns.
This was truly a historic triumph, as no Virginia state court had ever before
issued a temporary injunction to block an act of the General Assembly before
its effective date.
Gun Owners of America is also supporting legislation in the House and Senate to
reduce the age for purchasing handguns. Click here to find out how you can help
support these legislative efforts.
In related news, GOA will soon be submitting our amicus brief before the U.S.
Supreme Court in the New York City case. Currently, it’s mostly the rich and
famous – or those who have money to bribe officials – who are able to get carry
permits in the City.
A Supreme Court victory in this case could possibly rip the heart out of every
“may issue” carry law in the country – thus benefiting other states like
California, Hawaii, New Jersey, etc.
GOA will keep you up-to-date on the progress with this case.
