Hi Everyone,
I am finally getting all 125 Freshmen into the library (at one time!) for a
40 minute orientation session next week.
While I do not just want to stand up and lecture about library basics (they
know most of that anyway), it also isn't practical to do anything engaging
like a scavenger hunt since they will all be on top of each other in here.
Does anyone have any outside-the-box ideas that will give a welcoming and
helpful first impression?
I have seen some fun philosophical ideas like handing out objects (like a
rubics cube, tinker toys, wheels) and ask them to think about how they are
a metaphor for research, but I don't know if that is practical for 125
students at once.
If you are still reading, I would love your ideas and suggestions!
thank you!
