Hello - I'm reading through a pile of bibliographies and it's reminded me
of a problem I've been seeing all year. Students who want to cite a news
website like BBC, CNN, Huffpost etc often choose newsgroup as the source
type instead of website. I think this is because they see the word "news"
and figure that must be the correct source type. Is anyone else seeing
this? I don't remember this ever happening before this year but now it's
everywhere in our bibliographies. I wonder if it's something about the new
layout. I also wonder if there is a way to put newsgroup less prominently
in the list of sources. Because really, who ever needs to cite reddit? Ok
it could happen but it's unlikely. But mostly I'm curious if others are
seeing this.
