Hello
We make a big sign out of butcher paper to put in front of the library
listing the grade # ( example 6th, 7th, 8th etc. ) and the number of books
out.
I send lots of emails daily to remind the students with the auto emails of
overdue notices through Follett.
We change the numbers of the outstanding books when the numbers go down
daily.
It is promoting competition within the grades to see who will get it to 0.
(Bragging rights!)
I also announce in the Newsletter to the parents, and post it on the Daily
Announcements to students.
I start to promote it NOW to get the library books by May 8.
We send red slips to the students in class and have them come to the
library.
When the student comes to the library, our staff asks the student about the
book.
Just a lot of reminders.

course, there is leeway because there is a range with classes (so I usually
have 2 winners). But the first class to return their books by the end of
the month, I do May 31st gets an ice cream party. They get very excited
about this. With the MS students, it is a bit harder, but the MS Dean helps
me if books aren't returned they don't get their their yearbook. Hope this
