If you can make it onto the Cal campus I encourage you to check out this
exhibit

on the history of the census. It is informative, beautifully displayed and a
great inspiration for Census exhibits in our own libraries. The exhibit is in
the lobby of the library a few feet past the security desk. I spent about an
hour there and saw most of the exhibit.
