I want to amend my information below about Teen Health & Wellness. I 
incorrectly quoted our cost at $1,500. It was actually $795 (I didn’t think 
$1,500 seemed that “economical” so I doubled checked this morning 😊)

But sadly, I also checked the usage this morning and we’ve only had about 60 
searches since August 1st (I subtracted the high usage of myself and the 
counselors which occurred during the initial subscription month). This 
calculates to a cost of over $13 per search (yikes!) We are a large school 
(1650 students) so that’s .03 searches per student.  ☹

I am interested to know if the usage at other schools is higher and if so what 
sort of promotion have you done and/or why do you think your school might have 
higher usage than Bellarmine.

Exactly the same for us. We've had Rosen Teen Health & Wellness for several 
years now. When Cameron's collection became available it did not seem necessary 
to add it.

This is Rosen’s Teen Health and Wellness. We were impressed with many of the 
features including the ability to customize the HOTLINES with our own local 
crisis numbers.  There is a lot of teen to teen written articles (all edited 
and vetted by professionals of course).  Although the counselors were excited 
about it I’m not sure how often they refer students to it. I have posters up 
around school and it is prominent on every page of our Library Resources links.

I haven’t checked usage recently but when I do I will report back.  It was 
economical ($1,500/year) for us so I decided to give it a try (I would assume 
it’s cheaper for smaller schools).

I opted NOT to buy physical books because:


  1.  They go out of date really fast
  2.  An out of date cover kills the book immediately in a teen’s eyes
  3.  Students will hesitate to bring a physical book to the counter to check 
out.
  4.  I wanted the ability to post local HOTLINE phone #’s online.

I considered and rejected Cameron’s collection. I believe I just liked Teen 
Health and Wellness more. I can’t remember the price difference.
