This is true, and for the most part they entered the country through
Ellis Island. That's how Salvatore's name changed to Tony. When the
immigrations inspector found out that Salvatore was headed to New
York he stamped TO NY on his forehead and put him on the bus. After
that everyone started calling him Tony.
