Local Memorial Service The 31st Annual Memorial Service
Will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Washington Area Police Memorial
Fountain in front of Headquarters at 300 Indiana Avenue, NW, Washington DC
Please join the Metropolitan Police Department, The Fraternal Order of Police,
DC Lodge #1, Concerns of Police Survivors and others in our law enforcement
community as we recognize the members of the Washington area law enforcement
family who have given their lives in service to their community.

May 13th 2010 1015 AM \"Blessing of the Badge\" service @ the National City
Christian Church #5 Thomas Circle NW. Chief Cathy Lanier is guest speaker.
She is also being honored on behalf of the agency at the communion breakfast
0900hrs in the church fellowship hall.
Members wanting to volunteer to work Police Week events are strongly urged to
be in attendance for the April Meeting. If you have NOT worked police week in
the past but would like to join the team, please send an email to
policeweek@xxxxxxxxx with \\\"volunteer\\\" in the subject line so that you can
be placed on the list and contacted with important information. If you have
already sent an email and have not heard back, you will be receiving
information in the next several days.
The plans for Police Week are underway and the schedule is updated regularly.

The DC Lodge #1 Police Week site (tent city, beer garden, vendors etc) will
once again be located on the West side of 2nd ST NW between H and K (2nd and H
Sts. NW). The site will be open May 13th, 14th, and 15th.
