OK, well I did email Steve and Kirsty late last week, passing on the
feedback from the players on the separate gender vs mixed draw issue.
Kirsty got back to me today, and I've just had a quick chat with her on the
phone.
It turns out that she and Steve were looking at a couple of possibilities
(they hadn't actually made a definite decision to go fully mixed in the
draw, but were looking at the possibility of separate gender groups
followed by either separate gender or mixed knock-out).
Given the feedback, they're going with the fully separate gender option.
So there you go: there will, indeed, be separate men's and women's B1
champions this year!
