I had a nice time with Jean Francois Gout viewing the eclipse from A
Mountain in Tempe. At least a hundred other people were interested enough
to make the hike at 5 a.m. I brought a camera equipped with a 35mm lens in
an attempt to create a multiple-exposure image. I may get to that later.

As the setting moon moved down and to the right, we knew we'd be in for some
transits of airplanes leaving Sky Harbor. This was the best one of the lot.
Taken with a 70mm f/6.8 Pronto.

Eventually, the moon emerged from total eclipse, and it's distorted image
set behind the White Tank Mountains.
