Friday, June 21st 7:30 p.m.
All are welcome to attend.

The speaker is Dean Ketelsen. Mainly his talk will be about how to make
spectacular time lapse shots like his. He’ll also give an update on the
Steward Mirror lab’s progress with making gargantuan optics for gargantuan
observatories. Dean is a master optician and amazing astronomer. He’s done a
lot of outreach including coordinating the Grand Canyon Star Party for a few
decades until recently. He currently teaches the night observers programs at
Kitt Peak. This is truly a talk for everyone. Try not to miss it.

Saguaro Astronomy Club meets once a month on the Friday closest to the full
Moon at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix:

Interstate 17 to Camelback Rd.
West on Camelback to 33rd Avenue (This is a small traffic light before the big
one at 35th Ave. and Camelback)
Right (North) onto 33rd Avenue which is also the entrance to the University.
Pass the guard gate at the end, tell them you’re there for the astronomy club.
Turn left and park. Walk back to the guard gate and follow the lighted path to
the last building on the right—the Fleming Building. Follow your ears to our
meeting room.

Hope to see you there.

Call or email me directly if you have questions.
