About 12 hours ago I speculated that a new comet had been found in the morning sky. This has now been published on IAUC 8557, with orbit and ephemeris details on: http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/mpec/K05/K05N10.html Juels is using a 200mm f/2.8 telephoto + CCD for his survey, so there's no great optical power being brought to bear here. The comet is expected to brighten somewhat to about mag 13 over the coming two months, but will remain close to the Sun in the pre-dawn sky. \Brian -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
