[AZ-Observing] Need Better Mileage Vehicle for Star Parties

Prelim calculations on new car purchase decision:
Gas: $3/gal
Sentinel Party distance R/T: 200 mi
MPG 1979 Ford PU: 10mpg=20gal=$60
MPG 2006 Ford Escape SUV: 30mpg=6.7gal=$20
Difference=$40/trip
New car cost: ~$20,000
# star parties to break even: 500
@24/yr: 20.8 years
At which time the Ford Escape would be junk and the PU would still be running.
