The March issue of Astronomy has a very nice illustrated pullout of the Messier catalog. It has photo's of all the objects plus charts, positions and "fun facts" throughout. It also of interest to see that individuals of the Arizona amateur and professional astronomy community appear to be dominant Messier experts as there it a fair amount of text quoting Tom Polakis and Brian Skiff. It's interesting to note in the article that Tom now appears to live in Arizona city (Great, we can now stay at his house during the marathon) and Brian has a very nice margin piece on the naked eye object list he keeps (I'll have the try that one). There are a large amount of photo credits along the bottom of pages 6 and 7 of the pullout so I wouldn't be surprised to see some other Arizona Astronomy notables. All in all a great little "keeper" just in time for AJ's messier marathon Jimmy Ray -----Original Message----- From: az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:az-observing-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Paul Lind Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 7:39 AM To: az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [AZ-Observing] Re: Congrats to Brian Skiff!
