Hey folks.
I got up early and was viewing Mars from 3:45am to 4:30am. I could not see any
features on the planet at all even using various filters. The sky was very
clear and calm, my optics are very good and I watched for quite a while. While
at the Grand Canyon North Rim Star Party, Mars showed the south polar cap even
when the planet was only 20 degrees high in the southeast.
Does anyone know if there is a global storm going on now? I'll check online,
but if anyone knows, please pass on the info.
