Jeff; Congratulations, glad to hear that the presentation went off well and that everyone, including you, enjoyed themselves. This was part of an astronomical out reach program suggested by Jack Jones of SAC. The Mr. Wizard presentation (as Bob Stencel called it) on light went well. Close to 100 spectroscopes were handed out to the kids and the seniors. They used these instruments to interact with the presentation and then took them home to further explore light. I think most learned a few new things. I showed red, green and blue screens and let them see the single lines in the spectroscope. All that made sense, but then when I showed a yellow screen, a few people were taken back at not seeing a yellow line, but a red and green line. Then to assure them there are indeed yellow photons I fired up the pickle light. Lots of fun. Gene Lucas came to the presentation and assisted me with the computer. The cookies and drinks were well received and I think everyone enjoyed the presentation. I know I had fun presenting it. I told the SAC members at the last meeting I could do one at a SAC meeting. It would be more on spectroscopy and have some advanced things. Remember: THERE ARE NO WHITE PHOTONS!
