Not bad for an amateur astronomer! (Wink, wink)

Awesome image, Jon, as usual!

Hi All,
This is the photo I took during the Schwaar Star Gaze at Sentinel 2 weeks
ago.

http://www.christensenastroimages.com/nebula/ic443.html

All the images I have seen of this area have had the luminance shot through
a narrowband Hydrogen-Alpha filter. This is an LRGB image, which means the
luminance was shot through a luminance (clear) filter. The red emission
nebula won't be as striking as in the hydrogen-alpha filtered pictures and
the stars are not fitlered out. But the small blue reflection nebula in the
top center pretty much disappears from those images, so it's a bit of give
and take. Also the LRGB gives a more 'natural' look (in my opinion).

I had a good time at the star party. There was a great group of people
there. It was good to find out that there are other Ham Radio people in the
local amateur astronomy community.

Regards,

Jon Chrsitensen
