Howdy all;

It is about 2 AM MST and I just came in from finding Comet Hartley 2 in
Auriga. I was using my Leupold 10X50 binoculars. The comet is noticeably
fainter than any of the Messier clusters in Auriga. It has a brighter
core, but the outer faint section is difficult, I could only see it with
averted vision. All of this was made more difficult by the fact that
there is a big, bright Moon in the sky and the comet is very near a 6th or
7th magnitude star.

Clear skies to us all;
Steve Coe
