From the email traffic it sounds like there will be a fairly good crowd at the
Griffin ranch site this weekend. For those that may not know the location
directions are below.
Starting at the 101 and US 60 the drive to Globe is about 79 miles.

Go thru Globe until you reach the US 60/77 Junction just east of town.

Turn north toward Show Low, drive 17 miles and look for a sign that say's "
Jones water Campsite" on your right .Turn to your left on Haystack Butte it
will lead to the Griffin Ranch. As you start up the road you will see the sign
that says Griffin Ranch.

About one mile in you will pass the ranch house on your left, please watch your
speed as you pass because some of the land is privately owned. About 1 more
mile there will be a fork in the road going to the left...this is the site
where Howard sets up when he visits the site. David Douglas used a site just
south of the fork, the last time I was there a fire burnt the brush. The site
Beevo and I have used is a few hundred feet farther north to a trail that heads
to the east. About 3/8 mile up that trail is another good site for one or two
observers. Farther up is a nice area that will accommodate several, but the
road can be rough at times. Here are the long and lat coordinates.
Hope to see you there
