Tom Polakis and I observed from Eagle Eye a few weeks ago. Personally, I
feel Eagle Eye is darker than Vekol and tends to have better seeing, however
bugs are the site's major drawback.
Last fall we were nearly eaten alive, and a few weeks ago, although not as
bad, the bugs did exist. I strongly suggest bringing bug repellant. Also
of note, semi-trucks travel frequently on the road leading to Salome and are
visible from the site. The exposure is minimal and does not cause problems
unless you enjoy watching them drive by.
Other than the above, the site is open, relatively flat, and easy to find.

Take I-10 to Exit 81; Buckeye Salome Rd. Turn right (north). The road will
turn left and parralel I-10. go 9.8 mile to Eagle-Eye Rd. Turn right(north)
and go aprox 8.2 miles. There is a sign that says Mt Harqualala Rd. Turn
left onto the dirt Rd just past this sign. The site in about 1/4 mile to the
right. Total ditance from the Stack: 80 miles
Thad & I and probably a few other are going to convoy out, you're welcome to
join us. Right now it looks like we're meeting at 1800 at either the Home
depot or In & Out at I-10 & Dysart Rd. Stay tuned here to see where we
decide to meet.
