It should help alleviate some of the sweeping. 2013 11 29 16 23 17.5 -19 52 50 0.9762 0.0322 1.8 107.7 -4.5 2013 11 30 16 21 22.3 -16 20 29 0.9125 0.1145 5.3 127.4 -0.2 2013 12 01 16 19 11.7 -13 59 04 0.8680 0.1757 8.1 128.1 1.2 2013 12 02 16 17 23.7 -11 56 00 0.8309 0.2282 10.6 127.3 2.0 2013 12 03 16 15 54.2 -10 00 52 0.7980 0.2755 13.0 126.1 2.5 2013 12 04 16 14 39.4 -08 09 20 0.7681 0.3191 15.4 124.8 3.0 2013 12 05 16 13 36.9 -06 19 01 0.7404 0.3601 17.8 123.4 3.3 AJ Crayon Phoenix, AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: <stevecoe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "SMTP" <az-observing@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, October 28, 2013 3:33 PM Subject: [AZ-Observing] Breezy at Antennas and Comet ISON Howdy all; I am sitting at the computer waiting for the World Series to start this afternoon. It is quite breezy and a little cloudy. I do hope that all that will be over by the time the game has concluded. The snow storm up north is obviously effecting the entire western US. I did get a chance to view Comet ISON this morning. Here is the observation. Comet ISON 28 Oct, 2013 Antennas site 16" f/4.5 5:05 AM MST 27mm eyepiece found this comet by sweeping "underneath" Mars in Leo. Pretty low surface brightness, but definately a comet shape. 14mm eyepiece (130X) pretty faint, pretty large, elongated "comet-shaped" with fairly prominent nucleus. Coma and tail are low surface brightness, particularly with a 20% illuminated Moon only about 15 degrees distant. Averted vision shows the tail thicker and more prominent. Once the moon is thinner it should provide a better view. One can hope. Clear skies to us all; Steve Coe -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list.
