Subject: [AZ-Observing] Animation of Centrally Located Sunspot
A white light filter will show a solitary sunspot that's slightly larger than
the Earth's diameter. It appeared on the limb on the 14th, and has rotated to
near the center of the disc.
I have been following the active region (AR2546) daily since the 15th, and put
together a sequence of six images in H-alpha light. The spot is greatly
foreshortened in the early frames.
The images were processed in black & white, and with added color. Not sure if
I like the latter, but it does greatly increase the odds of being published in
the magazines or APOD.
