Thanks for the report. If you had wandered just across the NS strip onto
the east side (south end like you), you would have found a beehive of about
a dozen ASU people socializing and sharing views in various telescopes. I
think we were one of the higher density exceptions to the rule.

Since this was my first star party, my first time out with my scope, and
there first time Iâd been camping in 15 or more years, I thought Iâd
âquick" summary of my experience so all of you can tell me what I did wrong
and what I should do different next time.
3) My expectations of what a âstar partyâ was like were incorrect.
Everyone was spread out over a huge area. I didnât see very many people get
together to socialize. There seemed to be 3 or 4 groups that mostly kept to
themselves. Maybe everyone came together Saturday evening for the raffle
and chili and I just missed out.
But I survived and learned some stuff so it was a successful trip for me.
Just not quite in the way I was hoping. :-)
