Not to flog a dead horse, but I reprocessed M42 using a technique from Ken
Crawford called 6-Filter color mapping. Basically, it extends the normal
narrowband color mapping process by adding in the RGB masters, creating a
composite image that is the combination of all six filters (Ha, SII, OIII,
R, G, B). I gave it a try, and I have to admit I like the results. Lots of
detail and the stars are not magenta. See what you think.
